It's Been Awhile, Again!!!!

We just returned from a week at my mom's house. We all had a really good time. At first, Abby was nice to her cousin, AJ, but toward the end of the week they were at each others throat!!! It was my fault though. We had slumber parties... one night it was at AJ's house and the next night it was at Mimi's house. I think that they just spent too much time together.

At the slumber party at Mimi's house, while they were talking in bed, waiting for Mimi to bring them their "people" to sleep with. I overheard AJ say that if Mimi didn't have to take chemo, she would go alot faster. Speaking of that, when Abby first saw Mimi with her scarf on she was a little confused. She knew that it was Mimi but didn't know where her hair went. She is still talking about that. She said that Mimi has sparklies on her head, cause there is still a light layer of hair (kinda like if you don't shave your legs). Abby had a good time putting Mimi's turban on her head. Then finally she asked Mimi, "Why does Mimi have no hair?" Sha baby!!!

AJ really enjoyed Ryan, too. Ryan is his only boy cousin, so they have a little bit in common to start out with. We went to the bowling alley one day and while I was helping Abby bowl, AJ was looking after Ryan. He was really helping me out. Only Abby would freak out when Ryan got anywhere near the approach. (I think that is what it is called.) Abby bowled a 45 (with my help). I think that she had a good time, only a 10 frames of bowling is a little long for a 3 and 4 year old. They got tired about halfway through, so I did more bowling than I thought I would.

After all that, and the long trip home, we got to spend the whole weekend with Papa. We really had a fun weekend with him. We got our Direct TV system put in on Saturday. I really haven't gotten a chance to play with it except for recording a movie for Abby (which we didn't watch yet), but from what I have seen Papa do with it was pretty cool. There special included the NFL Sunday Ticket and he was watching 8 football games on the screen yesterday. I thought that was pretty cool. Not that I would be able to pay attention enough to watch 8 football games but it is cool for him. Even the HD is so much better than with Charter. When I canceled Charter, they asked me why I was leaving and I told them that we had just installed Direct TV and she asked me why. I told her that basically I didn't want to pay them for stuff that really didn't work all the time. So then she backed off asking why we didn't want to get our telephone through Charter.

Anyway, enough of the rant, wasn't I talking about the wonderful weekend that we spent with Papa. We really didn't do much of anything but we spent alot of quality time together. Last night, I was changing Ryan's diaper and he kept rubbing his eyes. I asked Papa what time it was. Well with our Direct TV box we no longer have a clock on the box, so he had to look at his watch. Before he could tell me what time it was, Abby runs into the room and says its 8 o'clock. Papa looks at his watch and says she is correct to the minute. It was exactly 8 o'clock. Crazy girl!!! But I'm not so sure it was a coincidence. She is pretty right about a lot of things but I can't say that she knows how to tell time. Maybe she has an internal clock.

Anyway, my peeps are about to wake up. Gotta go be a mom!!!

It's been awhile!!!

I know that all of you out there are dying to know what I have been doing since the last time. Really not that much at all. I have been trying not to get on the computer. How hard is that?? VERY!! I check my email but that is pretty much it. Just trying to hang out with the kids more. More than that, the kids have not really done much of anything spectacular lately. Abby is still loving Playschool. Ryan is still getting into everything. I really did a hardcore cleaning of my house this week while Abby was at school, but like mommydeuce said it doesn't last long. Anyway, I hear my peeps (along with the hubby). I think they might want something so I gotta go be a mom, now. Latta!!!

So what have you been doing today?????

Well today was Abby's first day at Playschool!!! After dropping her off this morning, I came home and immediately started housework. After cleaning both bathrooms, doing laundry, and playing with Ryan, this is what I have to show for it. I think that I must have stolen everyone in our neighborhood's towels. If I have your towel in my pile, I'm very sorry. Now it's time to fold the towels. How come folding them is not as much fun as throwing them in this cool pile? Anyway, its nap time so I need to either go sew my dress or fold these towels. Which one would you rather do????

Ripped off!!!!!

Well to say the least, our shower is up and it is really pretty. The reason that we put in a new tile shower is that our previous shower had a leak. We don't know where the leak was but the plumbing company told us that they would have to remove the shower in order to fix the leak. Well, not knowing anything about showers or plumbing for that matter, we decided that we didn't want to deal with the leak any longer, so we had them come "rip out" the old shower. (I mean literally rip it out. The "tile guy" had to do so much repair work that he couldn't even believe it.) When they gave us a quote on what a new tile shower would cost us, my first thought was that seems pretty reasonable to me. But again, I know nothing about showers, tile, or plumbing. Needless to say, it was a big ordeal all around (for us, for tile guy who didn't even know the plumber but said that he would never do a job for him again, it was that bad). Anyway, hubby got a call from the "tile guy" one day after the job was finished. "Tile guy" wanted to know if we had paid the plumbers yet, because the plumber promised him that he would get his money after he completed the job and he still hadn't gotten paid. Well, he told hubby what he would have charged us. He would have charged us less than $1000, but the plumber charged us $4000 and then wanted more since the "tile guy" had to do all that extra work. After that the plumber, wouldn't pay the "tile guy" the extra money for the extra work that he did. This really makes me mad cause the only "work" that the plumbing company did for us was "ripping out" the shower. Anyway, lesson learned. DO NOT WORK WITH MIDDLE MEN. IF YOU NEED SOMETHING GO STRAIGHT TO WHOEVER MAKES IT OR DOES IT. Well that's enough for today.
Gotta go be a mom!!!
