Songs

Every so often, I go through a phase where I absolutely love certain songs. I remember a couple of years ago, I was sitting in my cube (cubicle) at work and discussing different music with my co-worker/friend M. We loved a few songs that were out at the time and made a mixed CD (kinda like a mixed tape, remember those)!!! Well, I pulled out this CD the other day and laughed my butt off. Just to name a few of the songs, there was Lean Back-Terror Squad, Lose Control-Missy Elliott, Sugar (Gimme Some)-Trick Daddy, Switch-Will Smith, and Candy Shop-50 Cent. These are just a few of the songs that we would sing and dance to in our cubes. Yes, I admit it I love rap music. Who wouldn't???? Even my mom has a mixed tape (yes, an actual cassette tape) of random music such as Jump Around, and Can't Touch This.

My love for music probably started at a very young age of 3 or 4 when my mom enrolled me in dance class. When I was a little older, my mom and I would play a game in the car. She would have me guess who the singer was. Most of the time, I would get it right. Yay, me!!! BTW, I plan on doing this with my kids as soon as I can.

Right now, is one of those phases that I mentioned earlier. My absolute favorite band in the whole entire world is Matchbox 20, followed closely by the band Train. Matchbox 20 recently came back with a new album after a very long break. A couple of weekends ago, Abby and I went out to dinner with Following Kate. On the way home, I hear Abby mumbling in the backseat. It couldn't be because I have the radio as loud as it could go, right?? Well, she is singing!!! My dream of singing in the car with my girl has finally happened. She was singing, "Let's see how far we've come!!!" Not only was she singing a song that I really like, but she was singing a MB20 song. Will she be a fan just like me??? I hope so.

Now, she sings everything. The same night that she sang MB20, she asked me a very important question. "Mommy, does Papa like the 'Low, Low, Low' song???" I had to break her heart and tell her that Papa doesn't like the "Low, Low, Low" song, but that she should probably ask him. Of course, Papa doesn't like that song, Papa likes Nickelback and country songs.

Well, in analyzing my MB20 obsession, I have come to a very grim realization. My favorite songs by them is Rest Stop. This is a song about a girl who stops the car at a rest stop and tells her boyfriend/husband that she doesn't really care about him anymore. What does that say about me? I really do love my husband but this is a really good song. Should I be worried???

Anyway, enough thoughts to ponder. I almost forgot to tell you what is on my current playlist.

Low-Flo Rida
How Far We've Come- Matchbox 20
Love Song-Sara Bareilles
Clumsy-Fergie
See you Again-Miley Cyrus (love her music, not so much her dad)
Apologize-One Republic/Timbaland
Oh and Justin Timberlake needs to bring Sexy Back, again!!!!

Gotta go, no peeps this time, but it is very late or early in the morning. Need. Some. Sleep.
See Ya!!!

New Website

Well, I know that I haven't kept up with my blog lately but I have just been very busy trying to get a new website going. I have opened up Ladydoos to make customized clothing, gifts, and accessories for children. The website is nowhere near complete but there are a few things up there for you to browse through. We also have embroidery and monogramming capabilities for those of you who love to personalize your children's items. If there is something that you would like to see that we do not currently show, then please contact us and let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.

Green Goldfish and other tales from the kids world

Well, to start out with (cause I know that you are wondering about the Green Goldfish thing), Ryan loves goldfish and pretty much everything else that you could put in your mouth. But he really does love the goldfish. Anyway, the last time that I went grocery shopping I bought the colorful goldfish. Everytime that I give him goldfish for his snack he picks out all the other colors and eats them except for the green ones. Actually, one time he started throwing the green ones on the floor. How funny is that?

We had snow!!!
This was the kids first snow. They had a blast. Ryan kept falling in the snow and getting his pants all wet so we had to go in and change clothes. This was the result...

Kinda funny!!!! We had a blast in the snow. I almost cried when it stopped snowing. It was so beautiful. I wish it would snow every day even if it has to be cold all the time.

BTW, I am writing this while talking on the phone. So if it doesn't make any sense that would be why. Anyway, I hear my peeps so I gotta go. Talk to you later!!!

Selling Avon

I just recently started selling Avon. I wanted to earn a few extra dollars to help pay for things that we don't need (i.e. fabric and things for sewing). LOL!!! I just wanted to put this out there so that if anyone is interested in buying or selling Avon you know where to look. This is my Avon website or you can email me at ladydoos@bellsouth.net. I hope to hear from you if you need any products or beauty advice.

A Little Captain in Me

You know the commercial right. Where the guys are drinking Captain Morgan and they put their leg up on something. Well, I was talking to hubby one day and I had my leg like that. Abby was watching me so she asked why I was standing like that. I said, "I have a little captain in me!" This blew her mind, so she came up to me and proceeded to search me. She was trying to find the little captain!!!!

9 Years

This is not the sort of thing that I write about often but it is on my mind today and I just had to write a post about it. 9 years ago today, my father passed away. Although it has gotten easier to deal with there are still some things that you just can't help but think about. I'm so sad that I didn't get a chance (forgot) to visit his grave while we were in Louisiana over the weekend. We were so wrapped up with trying to visit everyone and have a party for Abby that we could that it just got pushed to the back burner.

There are things in your life that happen and you think, that just can't be a coincidence. Like for instance, Abby was born on the last day of October. When she was born, all I could think about was that Daddy wanted us to have something to look forward to in the month of October, not just to remember his death.

Well, I have more to write about but I here my peeps. Guess I gotta go be a mom!!!

It's Been Awhile, Again!!!!

We just returned from a week at my mom's house. We all had a really good time. At first, Abby was nice to her cousin, AJ, but toward the end of the week they were at each others throat!!! It was my fault though. We had slumber parties... one night it was at AJ's house and the next night it was at Mimi's house. I think that they just spent too much time together.

At the slumber party at Mimi's house, while they were talking in bed, waiting for Mimi to bring them their "people" to sleep with. I overheard AJ say that if Mimi didn't have to take chemo, she would go alot faster. Speaking of that, when Abby first saw Mimi with her scarf on she was a little confused. She knew that it was Mimi but didn't know where her hair went. She is still talking about that. She said that Mimi has sparklies on her head, cause there is still a light layer of hair (kinda like if you don't shave your legs). Abby had a good time putting Mimi's turban on her head. Then finally she asked Mimi, "Why does Mimi have no hair?" Sha baby!!!

AJ really enjoyed Ryan, too. Ryan is his only boy cousin, so they have a little bit in common to start out with. We went to the bowling alley one day and while I was helping Abby bowl, AJ was looking after Ryan. He was really helping me out. Only Abby would freak out when Ryan got anywhere near the approach. (I think that is what it is called.) Abby bowled a 45 (with my help). I think that she had a good time, only a 10 frames of bowling is a little long for a 3 and 4 year old. They got tired about halfway through, so I did more bowling than I thought I would.

After all that, and the long trip home, we got to spend the whole weekend with Papa. We really had a fun weekend with him. We got our Direct TV system put in on Saturday. I really haven't gotten a chance to play with it except for recording a movie for Abby (which we didn't watch yet), but from what I have seen Papa do with it was pretty cool. There special included the NFL Sunday Ticket and he was watching 8 football games on the screen yesterday. I thought that was pretty cool. Not that I would be able to pay attention enough to watch 8 football games but it is cool for him. Even the HD is so much better than with Charter. When I canceled Charter, they asked me why I was leaving and I told them that we had just installed Direct TV and she asked me why. I told her that basically I didn't want to pay them for stuff that really didn't work all the time. So then she backed off asking why we didn't want to get our telephone through Charter.

Anyway, enough of the rant, wasn't I talking about the wonderful weekend that we spent with Papa. We really didn't do much of anything but we spent alot of quality time together. Last night, I was changing Ryan's diaper and he kept rubbing his eyes. I asked Papa what time it was. Well with our Direct TV box we no longer have a clock on the box, so he had to look at his watch. Before he could tell me what time it was, Abby runs into the room and says its 8 o'clock. Papa looks at his watch and says she is correct to the minute. It was exactly 8 o'clock. Crazy girl!!! But I'm not so sure it was a coincidence. She is pretty right about a lot of things but I can't say that she knows how to tell time. Maybe she has an internal clock.

Anyway, my peeps are about to wake up. Gotta go be a mom!!!
